      How building works

      • Drag a part up from the tray onto the build. Drag any part to move it. Drag it off the build area, or onto the bin that appears, to remove it.
      • Bricks stack on the same layer. They only hold together where one sits on top of another, like the real thing.
      • Layers run front to back. Parts on different layers pass each other, and join wherever their holes line up. Flat plates lie across several layers. Turn stands a part up (or lays it down) in any view; Across points it into the screen.
      • Three views: Side to build, Top to slide parts between layers, 3D to see it all from any angle (drag empty space to turn around it). In Top and 3D a part snaps onto whichever face of another part it's over, even from below.
      • Green means a part will click in, amber that it will sit loose, red that it doesn't fit. A part you move into a spot where it doesn't fit stays there in red, out of everything's way, until you move it somewhere it fits. Red parts sit out of runs. A new part only appears where it fits.
      • The car drops onto the table when you press Run. Ground sets it down first, and the same button, now reading Centre, lifts it back.
      • Beams and shocks drop in straight. Select one and drag an end to stretch or turn it.
      • One pin is a hinge (tan). Two or more pins lock a joint rigid (black).
      • Studs, pins and axles appear by themselves wherever parts meet. Select a part to see them as dots; tap one and Delete takes out just that one. A deleted one shows as a red ring: tap it and Put back.
      • Axles go through a hole across the middle two layers or all four, always centred on the car. Wheels and gears on an axle spin together, and so does a beam or brick held by nothing but that axle: a crank arm turns with its gear.
      • Wheels and gears snap onto a hole or axle. Put one on a motor's orange shaft to drive it. Gears on the same layer mesh when they touch: a small gear driving a big one is slower and stronger.
      • The hub is your cargo: it has to reach the flag still on the car. Motors run on their own. Anything outlined in orange isn't attached to the hub and will fall off.
      • New parts arrive as you open new tests, each with what that test needs. A locked part shows which test hands it out.
